Proverbs 25: Humility
Last night at The Fort, Joey Tisdale preached on Proverbs 25, which is humility. I really enjoyed this mainly because I love Joey so much, and also because I think it is a very important topic. The Lord tells us that pride comes before the fall, so to be humble, we will not fall, and we shall be exalted. Luke 14:11 says, “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." Showing humility is showing that we need the Lord. It is a daily struggle that we have to deal with. Proverbs 25:27 says, “It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glory to search out one’s own glory.” The Lord will exalt us if we are humble, so therefore we should not search out our own glory. It is very important to have authentic accountability in your life, and have people that are going to tell you when you are struggling. They will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. People that love you for who you are, but love you enough to not let you stay that way. I have many people like this in my life, and a lot of the times it is hard, but in the long run, I really appreciate these people who have truly been a blessing in my life, and kept me going down this right road I am walking on. It is only through Christ that these friendships exists.
